The BBC is showing a documentary called Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice that was filmed using no people at all. The camera work was done using unique, innovate technology. The stationary, remote videocameras use heat sensors to detect the presence of the bears, while mobile cameras on skis with electric motors zoom around the snowcovered landscapes of Svalbard, Norway, according to The Australian.

An additional "snowball" camera rolls around and captures the majestic animals in their natural habitats.

The documentary is focused on the fact that it was filmed without a "human presence," according to the news source. In order to capture the polar bears in their natural environment, it is vital to have no interaction with them, which the BBC attempts to do. The media outlet appropriately chose the former star of the science fiction show Doctor Who, David Tennant, to narrate the documentary.

The BBC recently aired another documentary featuring polar bears, Frozen Planet, which received critical acclaim. That show, which was narrated by Sir David Attenborough, focuses on the life and ecosystems of the two polar regions of the planet.
